Virginia Craft Beer Seminar Series

The Virginia Craft Brewers Guild (VCBG) will host a quarterly seminar series beginning on March 11. The Seminars will include VA ABC compliance officers, VDACS/VBDC staff, industry experts, peers, and potential customers. The purpose of the Seminars is to help independent craft breweries improve brewery profitability, develop new market opportunities, build relationships with regulatory agencies, and share great craft beer. The Craft Beer Showcase allows select retailers to taste featured beers available through the new Virginia Beer Distribution Company and other wholesalers representing member companies.

Agenda: 

• 2-2:30pm - Harvest and Repitch: Reducing Expenditures with Liquid Yeast– Jacob Hoover, White Labs
• 2:30pm-3pm – Regulatory Compliance: Mug Clubs & 3^rd Party Food Vendor Contracts – ASAC John O'Connell and SA Ashley Spinner, Statewide Compliance Administration, Virginia ABC Control Authority
• 3pm-3:30pm – VA Beer Distribution Company Update – Brett Vassey, President & CEO, Virginia Craft Brewers Guild; Dakota Rust, VBDC Program Manager; Joe Guthrie, VDACS Commissioner; Staci Saunders, VWDC Program Manager
• 3:30-4:30pm – Virginia Market Analysis, Retail Trends, and Wholesale Trends – Taylor Chenery, Starr Hill Brewery Director of Sales & Marketing; Josh Naber, Blue Ridge Beverage
• 4:30pm-6pm – Beer Tasting/Showcase: Networking with Select Retail Buyers & VA Beer Distribution Company Staff
